Windows are a type of prop in Identity V Identity v.png.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Windows are holes in walls which Survivors can quickly climb (vault) through to try and lose the Hunter. They are common features in every match, and can appear in the walls that surround the Map or in and around landmarks.

Windows can be created by pressing the action button (bottom right-hand corner) on blue highlighted walls.

Survivors can be terror shocked while crossing windows. Hunters can hit Survivors through windows if they are in the range of attacks.

Vaulting[edit | edit source]

In order to vault over a window, both Hunters IconHelpLoading hunter.png and Survivors IconHelpLoading survivor.png must walk up to it and press the action button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Whereas the Hunter usually only has a slow vaulting speed, Survivors are able to climb through walls at two different speeds:

  • If a Survivor runs towards a window and has enough momentum, they will quickly vault over the window.
    • This type of vault will alert the Hunter with a noise notification.
  • If a Survivor walks or crawls up to a window and climbs through it, the vault will be slow and quiet.
    • This type of vault will not alert the Hunter.

Dash Speed[edit | edit source]

Dash speed after vaulting a window can be increased with the use of the Talent called Broken Windows. This will increase dash speed by 50% for 3 seconds. It can be used every 40 seconds.

Blocking Windows[edit | edit source]

As the Hunter, you are able to block window usage for all players (including yourself) with the Talent known as Confined Space. The window will be blocked after being vaulted, and will remained blocked for 20 seconds. The Cowboy can use his lasso to cross the window before the blockage animation begins, trapping the Hunter outside the area and wasting much time.
