Overview[ | ]

Survivors have 3 Health States: Healthy, Injured, and Downed.

Health States can affect a Survivor's survivability and also inhibit certain interactions.

Healthy State[ | ]

This is the default Health State of Survivors. They start the match in this Health State.

Damage[ | ]

Receiving damage from a Hunter puts Healthy Survivors into the Injured State.

Terror Shock[ | ]

Terror Shock is double damage from a Hunter, which puts Healthy Survivors directly into the Downed State.

Injured State[ | ]

This is the second Health State of Survivors that have been injured by a Hunter.

Though an injured Survivors limps, their Movement Speed is unaffected and the same as when Healthy.

Receiving damage from a Hunter puts Injured Survivors into the Downed State.

Downed State[ | ]

In the Downed State (also referred to as Incapacitated), a Survivor's movement speed is limited to a slow crawl.

A crawling Survivor has two options: recover as much health as they can, or crawl away to find help. Without the aid of the Exit Path Talent Exit Path Talent, a Survivor cannot fully recover by themselves; they will need another Survivor to finish healing them. A crawling Survivor can be picked up by the Hunter and brought to a Rocket Chair.

While in the Downed State, Survivor's "Tenacity" slowly depletes until death. Tenacity in this state depletes 4 times as slow as when tied to a rocket chair. The progress can be seen by the Survivor's Icon in the HUD.

Downed Survivors can see the Auras of their teammates and vice versa.

  • A Hunter can see the Aura of a Downed Survivor if they have the Deer Hunt Talent.
  • The Borrowed Time Talent instantly recovers a Survivor from any Health State when the Exit Gates become activated.

(For example, if a survivor is injured with the borrowed time and the exit gates become powered, they will be in the health state.)

Healing[ | ]

Healing can put Survivors back into higher Health States.

  • It is possible to heal oneself with a Syringe Item Syringe or being healed by other Survivors back to Healthy.
  • A Hunter can see the location of a Survivor being healed or healing themselves with a the Street Sweeper Talent Street Sweeper Talent.
