.
Contents
Overview[edit | edit source]
Emily Dyer is a Survivor that boosts her team's survival time as well as her own.
She has two unique External Traits. Med Master allows her to begin the match with a Syringe
, which will never deplete upon using it and Med Elite
which increases healing speed on herself and teammates significantly. It also provides a small boost to all Survivor's healing speed. Because of this, she is used mainly as a support character to help teammates.
Her vaulting speed and pallet throwing speed are slower than that of the average Survivor's, making her a less than ideal kiter. However, with enough skill, she can heal herself while kiting bit by bit.
Background[edit | edit source]
She is ambitious and extremely clever, yet unobtrusive. But she is not all she seems. To survive in this crazy world, you have to do something out of the ordinary. Tired of constantly moving around, Emily hopes to use this chance to find a place she can call "home" and ultimately enjoy a life of security and stability, one that she has never had. But before that, she needs to solve a few "problems" from her past.
Emily Dyer, who was born in a middle-class family did not feel stable. During that time, she tasted the changes and displacements of life. She was tired of the life of relocating and wanted to find a stable life. She was eager for stability and security. But often, the normal state of life is to ask for nothing. The originally clever and lovely Emily slowly became dull and weak. Her original lovely big eyes were gradually lost from the glory of the past. She wanted to survive in this cold world, but she became ambitious, cold, and greedy.[2]
Lydia Jones opens "The Lydia Jones Clinic", but it loses money. Lydia goes against her methods in an effort to raise money; she begins to provide private medical services for female patients. This was successful for the clinic. But one day, a woman was found dead on the operating table. The doctor had left her there after performing an illegal surgery.
Lydia Jones changes her name to Emily Dyer.
At the manor, Emily Dyer meets Emma Woods and Kreacher Pierson. She dislikes Mr. Pierson, and hopes that Emma stays away from him. She recalls operating on Emma in the clinic years prior,[3] whose name had been Lisa Beck at the time. Emma adores Emily and Emily in turn feels a very strong protective love over her, as shown by the quote from the game’s map "White Sand Street Asylum": "Lydia will stand by Lisa forever and ever."

Full Conclusion[edit | edit source]
Emily Dyer is not her real name, but rather Lydia Jones. Lydia lived a rather unstable life, always moving around relocating, and she desired nothing more than a stable and secure life for herself and for others. This desire is what got her interested in becoming a doctor; so she could provide a sense of security and comfort to her patients. Lydia adopts her own personal philosophies towards the profession: always practice on yourself so that you never harm a patient, the well being of the patient is always a doctor's sole purpose, never give or provide guidance to harmful drugs (even with request from the patient).
Lydia went on to open the Lydia Jones Clinic with the goal of helping as many people as she could. She also volunteered to help at the White Sand Street Asylum. As the clinic was run privately, it failed to turn any profit. Lydia felt her stability slipping, so in an impulsive effort to raise more money, Dr. Jones decided to betray her morals and put out an advertisement saying that the clinic provides private medical services for female patients. There are two confirmed accounts of these services: an illegal abortion that Lydia performed on Martha Remington where both the mother and the baby were killed and electroshock therapy done on Lisa Beck (Emma Woods).
In three months, the clinic has raised enough money to continue functioning as it was supposed to. However, after the accidental murder of Martha Remington, Lydia had no choice but to flee once more. Before leaving, Lydia did her best to cover up her tracks by disposing of the body before changing her name to Emily Dyer and going into hiding. Later, hungry dogs tear apart the garbage bags that contained the dismembered parts of Martha's body. An official report goes out about the death of Martha Remington, and Lydia Jones becomes a wanted criminal for murder.

Birthday Letter[edit | edit source]
A Letter for Lorraine, the Nun
Dear Lorraine,
I made a grave mistake.
This means I won't be able to return to the White Sand Street Asylum and resume my voluntary work for a very long time.
I'm writing to you not to defend my awful behavior but to report to you certain truths I uncovered at work before I leave.
There are horrible mistakes in the White Sand Street Asylum medical records.
Through the treatment and evaluation of the patient, Lisa Beck, I realized that those children - the children from the orphanage, may not have gentle temperaments. I mean, yes, they're seldom happy, and they seem suspicious of stubborn. Yet to my knowledge, these children aren't that much different from normal children in terms of mentality and behavior. These orphans might have experienced something terrible, or might just have certain behavioral deviation, but I believe they deserve a second chance.
I therefore hope that you would evaluate the patients in the asylum once more. For your own safety and certain necessary privacy concerns, I urge you seek help from a third party professional.
I know that my suggestion may seem somewhat ridiculous, and perhaps you'll come across certain rumors about me later on, but I've adhered to my oath throughout my treatment of the children.
For the benefit of the patients, for those poor children, please commence the evaluation as soon as possible.
Yours truly,
Lydia Jones

Tips[edit | edit source]
- Save teammates and body block after rescue from rocket chair (if you're healthy or if Tide Turner
is active).
- Remember that Hunters equipped with Street Sweeper
can see your position while self-healing within a certain distance to them, so be careful and, if possible, try to heal near a pallet or a safe window.
- Using the Doctor in duo hunters mode is very helpful as all survivors receive a 5% healing speed bonus due to the Doctor's External Trait, Med Elite
. Additionally, the doctor can constantly heal herself while kiting after getting hit and also carry another item for defence, such as a Flare Gun
or Perfume
.
- Her syringe can now heal 0.25 damage after the update of 23rd July. Players can self heal while kiting. If successful, this will require the Hunter to hit the Doctor thrice (initially, after self heal and kite so that the Doctor reaches 0.75 damage, and a final hit to incapacitate the Doctor), wasting a lot of time.
Recommended Talents[edit | edit source]
- Spectator
is a decent Talent for Doctor. However, in higher ranks, it is better to use other high impact perks in late game or helping you in some tricky scenarios.
- To boost further the healing speed you can use also talents like Doctor and Shelter
. However, keep in mind that you can't heal faster than a certain speed (when you reached the maximum healing speed, "Max Efficiency" appears on the bar label).
- It's much more recommended to to use a Persona that contains either Broken Windows
or Tide Turner
along with Borrowed Time
(of course).
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Her birthday is 17th of March.
- She is rumored to be inspired by Amelia Dyer, a serial killer doctor from the 1900’s.
- She loves books.
- She's interested and loves herbs.
- She is good at administering healing.
- She hates coyotes.
- Her secret achievement, "War Angel" can be obtained in a match by healing either herself or her fellow teammates four times when her heartbeat is very visible. It is a really hard achievement to get, but as her healing is strong, it can be obtained.
